Rick Baskin is not only a trial attorney but a musician and actor. He has his own law practice with offices in Oakland , Hayward, Fremont and Concord. He graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara where he studied acting and political science. He earned his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Before entering private practice, he tried numerous criminal cases as a Deputy District Attorney.

Mr.Baskin is a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College, a non-profit organization founded by prominent trial attorney and author, Gerry Spence, dedicated to training lawyers to be winning advocates and to obtain justice for people. His "My Story of Self Discovery at Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College", was personally selected by Mr. Spence to be displayed on the Trial Lawyers College website.

Rick was born into a family of musicians. His father was an accomplished jazz pianist and his brother plays guitar. After studying piano, trombone and guitar, Rick taught himself to pay the blues harmonica at 17. He opened for the legendary John Lee Hooker when he performed with Hooker’s daughter, Zakia at the House of Blues. Rick also played with Craig Horton, the guitarist for Muddy Waters and Little Walter. In the Bay Area, he has performed with other well known blues musicians including Jules Broussard, Larry Vann, Lisa Kindred, Beverly Stovall, Joe Lococo, Raymond Victor and Henry Oden. Rick just produced his first CD “Baskin in the Blues” featuring some of the musicians mentioned above.

Rick began his acting career in the eighth grade. While at UC Santa Barbara, he appeared in The Visit, The Tooth of Crime and Androcles and The Lion. He was cast as the Gentleman Caller in The Glass Menagerie. While working as a Deputy District Attorney, he appeared as Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird. Recently, he acted in an original play, Pomp and Circumstance, staged at the Shelton Theatre on Union Square in San Francisco. Film credits include Rampage, directed by William Friedkin ("The French Connection").
